Based in the
Southeast of England our business has specialised in growing British Apples
& Pears since 1947. Today we are the UK’s largest top fruit producer,
farming 3,500 acres of orchards that are spread across multiple farm locations
and employ over 500 full time equivalent staff and 800 – 1,000 seasonal
workers. Our family run business supplies direct to supermarket retail
customers, controlling every step from the orchard to the customer, supplying 1
in 3 of all the British apples and pears produced in the UK.
The Role – Junior Commercial Assistant
We are excited to offer an opportunity to join
our Commercial team at AC Goatham & Son. This is a dynamic and varied role,
where you will be required to collect, collate and present UK grocery market
data on fresh produce/Top Fruit, playing a key role in driving commercial
performance.
Reporting to the Customer Account Manager,
this position offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or those
with relevant experience to develop their career in FMCG.
Key Responsibilities:
·
Conduct grocery market research via national
store visits, recording and collating supermarket range data.
·
Prepare GAP analysis reports on UK grocery
market range activity.
·
Identify product developments or new products
by remaining current on industry trends, market, and competitor activity.
·
Processing and updating orders for all
customers. (Cirrus. Bespoke system)
·
Monitoring customer stock availability and
requesting order increases where required.
·
The creation of reports using the businesses
ERP system
·
Support the commercial team and wider business
with any special projects.
·
Liaising with customers to resolve order
issues.
·
Provide regular insights from analysis of
reporting data to support the Commercial Team in revenue and sales performance
management.
- Identify opportunities to enhance margin and
profitability
About You:
·
Either experience of working in a Commercial
environment or graduates from any degree background with a passion for the FMCG
industry.
·
Full UK driving license (travelling nationally
will be required).
·
Proactive and self-motivated, with a drive to
deliver value-adding improvements.
·
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving
business environment.

Required:

Well organised, attention to detail, able to
prioritise appropriately
·
Able to work to deadlines, both individually
and as part of a team
·
Excellent communication skills
·
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications,
particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
·
Ability to communicate (written & verbal) in
English at Level B2 or higher.

Salary and Benefits:
Full time,
permanent position
5 day per
week to include
Salary £27,000
to £29,000 per annum, based on a 40-hour working week.
5 days per
week, including either a Saturday or Sunday cover where required.

working on rota basis
